17. The cat accident

I made this post in order to hopefully make some people understand you shouldn't ignore it when you hit a animal...

Yesterday I walked back home from the fair, but then we suddenly heard a boom. I turned around and saw a cat desperately running away. It was not hit by the car but driven over. My friend said it was probaly nothing, but I insisted on checking the cat. Thank god the driver of the car stopped, turned around and also came to check the cat. The girl that drove the car was totally in shock. The cat was sitting underneath a car and we accidentally scared it and it tried to run away. It looked so awfull. He couldn't use his back legs anymore, so he desperately tried to get away on his front legs. No one really know what to do, and no one had the number of the animal ambulance. So I called home to ask the number and called the animal rescuers. It took a long time before they got there. I was afraid the cat would try to run away or that they couldn't catch it. Minutes late this guy that came with the ambulance told us that the cat had a severe back physical injury. (Don't really know the English word) And they had to live immediately to go to the emergency animaldoktor. The chance it willsurvive is very small. Maybe it already died. But if it will survive, I know that it can never walk on its back legs anymore. I'm so sorry for the owners. Today at work, everytime when I saw cat food, I thought: That could be the owners.

It's terrible that some people hit a animal by car, or somthing, and that they just pretend like nothing happened. I don't understand that. I mean, what if it is your cat. Maybe this just hurts me extra much because I own 2 cats myself. But even if I wouldn't I would still care.
